LHOIST WESTERN EUROPE : INTERACTIVE TERMINALS

The project’s aim is the automated management of product consignment towards the different lime production sites of Lhoist Western Europe (Belgium, France, Denmark and United Kingdom).

At his arrival, the truck driver identifies himself and provides the requested information ; his vehicle is tarred ; when the information is validated, the terminal delivers a badge and a document gathering the loading data. Then the driver places his truck at the loading place where loading is either automatic or done by a loader. Once loaded, the driver comes back to the terminal where he inserts his badge ; the truck is weighed and a delivery slip is handed over ; the badge is taken back and the data transmitted to SAP. In the case of open or multiple orders, a permanent badge is delivered ; it is only taken back at the moment of the last loading or at the end of its validity.

The system also takes on the management of rail deliveries through managing and editing vehicle documents in SNCB format. It will soon be linked to Transwide, an Internet site that informs carriers and customers about the transport situation and automatically generates CMR documents that may be recuperated on the site and printed with delivery slips.
