Evolution of the Group (history)

From the basic electric set-up to the design, manufacturing, installation and implementation of industrial equipment, the activities of Technord have evolved according to technological development and the expectations of its customers.

T.E.I.

1945
It all started back in 1945 with the creation of  T.E.I. (Technique Electrique Industrielle).
Its main activity was to carry out cable work and electro-mechanical set ups in the industrial field.
1975
The founders entrusted the company’s management to Michel FOUCART. With the active participation of the experienced team, this young engineer developed T.E.I. to how we know it today.
1979
An increase in T.E.I. customers  led to the creation of the  I.E.B. company  (Installations Electriques du Borinage), a subsidiary of  T.E.I., in order to enable customers from the Mons area to find locally an array of services and benefits that T.E.I. was already offering in the Tournai area.

To answer the needs in machine automation of its customers, the T.E.I. developed a workshop of  MECANIC AUTOMATION.
The diversification of  T.E.I. activities continued when  BAXTER (world leader in blood products) asked that  OPTIPRESS machines be built.  The production of these machines which separate blood components will require the creation of a separate workshop, hence the birth of the  MECATRONIQUE division.

S.A.P., I.C.A.R.

1983
S.A.P. (System Automation Program) sees the light.  As its name indicates, the activity of S.AP. consists in designing and making turnkey automation systems.
1986
The company  I.C.A.R. (Information Technology, Construction, Automation, Réseau [ French for network ] ) develops for S.M.E.s multiprocessing and multitask information technology programs.

TECHNORD AUTOMATION    and TECHNORD FRANCE

1997
The SAP and ICAR companies are regrouped to form the current TECHNORD AUTOMATION company.  Always evolving it has continued its old jobs, has developed them and diversified them.   TECHNORD FRANCE settled in the technological area of Lille, in Villeneuve d'Ascq.

LA TECHNIQUE

1988
The shop LA TECHNIQUE is a retail outlet of electric equipment located in Tournai.  One also finds there a lighting department called  " Le Filament Bleu ", which offers a wide selection of products both in the decorative and industrial lighting.
Experts at managing stock, the company has acquired the means to assume the role of supply chain support for the  TECHNORD group. It now offers its services to the customers of the group’s four companies.

The Technord Group today:
